About the textbook:

The purpose of this textbook is to provide the history of Black Catholics that have been historically disenfranchised by the Church that promised to treat all humankind as truly made in “the image and likeness of God.” (Gen. 1:26)  There are plenty of scholarly books written for theologians and educators but there is currently no book specifically written for high school aged students that provides a strategic part of history that has been purposely left out of most high school level textbooks. Place this information alongside of what you already know, and what you will be given over your high school years. You will readily be able to make connections between these pages and the pages of history with this story the other books won’t tell you.
